A local Falmouth-based community group have used funding they received to help clear the pathway between two popular beaches.
Boscawen Fields Action Group, set up in 2014, have used funding they received from homes group Lifestory to clear the coastal pathway leading from Gyllyngvase Beach to Swanpool Beach.
The area cleared was a raised plot located just between the two beaches which the group say had become overgrown in recent years, blocking the sea view.
The group came together and decided the space would be an ideal starting point for improvement works to be made along the footpath and enlisted the help of Falmouth Town Council and Cormac.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and Cornish-themed lunch was held during the day on Thursday to celebrate the completion of the works and was attended by members of the action group and representatives from Lifestory as well as Falmouth mayor Steve Eva and Truro and Falmouth MP, Cherilyn Mackrory.
The Boscawen Fields Action Group had previously written to their MP explaining their plans to improve the area.
The work included clearing both sides of the overgrown pathway in order to widen it so as to create more space to enable wheelchair access.

The clearing also reveals the previously obscured coastal views available from the area.
The group also made space for a small wildflower garden as well as adding and engraved brass plaque to the bench as an acknowledgement to Lifestory.
In a speech made at the ceremony, Falmouth Mayor Steve Eva said: "Friends of Boscawen Fields came up with a plan to produce this for someone to enjoy.
"They went and found the funding, the funding came from Lifestory and the work was carried out by Cormac.
"Most of us local people have walked this path many times and sometimes it hasn't been pleasant to stop and sit down.
"But this is a lovely area.
"Thank you for coming."
The works are but the latest in the group's history, having raised approximately £42,500 for fields in the surrounding area in recent years.
