Crowds of people filled the streets of Helston on Saturday for this year's Harvest Fair Carnival.

It was the first big event in the town since the start of the pandemic 18 months ago and people delighted in being able to join together for celebrations once more.

That delight only grew when Helston Town Band, which was leading the carnival procession, stopped outside the Guildhall in town to play the Flora Dance – bringing large smiles, huge cheers and not a few tears from the many Helstonians who have seen the last two Flora Days cancelled.
