Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in St Ives yesterday (Tuesday) in which a motorcyclist died.
Officers were called just after 5.30pm following the collision between a Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and a Daewoo Matiz on Old Coach Road.
Police said the motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man from St Ives, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The occupants of the car were not injured.
Old Coach Road was closed for nine hours while the scene was examined by a specialist forensic collision investigator.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
"They would also like to hear from any motorists who may have relevant dash cam footage.
