THE rescheduled Martin Jennings Memorial Run will be taking place this Sunday after a forecast of rain forced the weekend event to be cancelled.

The Martin Jennings Memorial Motorcycle Run was postponed last Sunday (September 12) due to the uncertainty of the weather forecasts.

Organiser David Saunby said: "Sadly I had no option but to postpone for one week, due to a weather front coming in predicting rain which would have made riding quite hazardous, especially for the less experienced riders.

"I have to put the safety of the riders first when organising an event of this size which attracts on average over 1,000 motorcycles.

The run will now take place this coming Sunday, September 19, if weather conditions allow.

The start venue and timings remain the same, with motorcycles assembling from 8.30am at the Tregurra Park and Ride Car Park, Truro, leaving at 11am.

There maybe, a slight alteration to the route, due to the slip road on the A30 at Camborne West being closed for works, so the run would continue on down the A30 to Hayle, then turning left, back up through Connor Downs to Camborne, the remainder of the route remains the same.

Amended afternoon route. A30 Chiverton 2.30pm. Hayle Roundabout 2.50pm. Camborne 3pm. Beacon 3.10pm. Helston 3.45pm. Falmouth 4.15pm.

At Falmouth the run will finish at the Falmouth Recreation Ground at 4.30, via Penryn Bypass, Ponsharden, North Parade, Green Bank, High Street, Market Street, Church Street, Arwenack Street, Grove Place, Bar Road, Castle Drive, Cliff Road,, Spernon Wyn Road, Pennance Road, Western Terrace.

This years charity is Guide Dogs for The Blind, where it is hoped that £10,000 can be raised to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy right through to being handed over to its new owner.

A Just Giving page has also been set up, so supporters and spectators can also contribute.
