Three cyclists have been seriously injured in a collision with a car.

Police were called at around 7.17pm yesterday (Thursday) when officers were notified of a collision on the A390 Probus bypass.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The collision involved a white Vauxhall Insignia car and three pedal cyclists, all heading towards the Truro direction.

"The pedal cycles and car have collided, resulting in serious injuries to the cyclists."

Police officers from patrol sections, the Alliance’s Armed Response and Roads Policing Teams were all call the scene and began an investigation, working to establish the cause of the collision. 

The force spokesperson said one man had been arrested and was assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision, or may have dashcam footage of the A390 between Probus and Tresillian, between 7pm and 7.30pm.
