Falmouth Town have announced the signing of Newquay AFC forward Jack-Bray Evans.

Bray-Evans, who is into double figures for league goals this season, adds even more strength to Falmouth's attack which has already notched 48 goals in just 11 league games this season.

Town are currently top of the South West Peninsula League with a maximum points return of 33. They already have an eight-point lead over second-placed Camelford.

Bray-Evans was thrilled to have signed for Town. He said: "I am really pleased to get it through, Falmouth is a club I've always liked. I'm just excited to get going and hopefully help the team keep winning games."

The talisman explained that Falmouth's supporters, the F Troop, played a big part in bringing him to the club: "The club is fantastic with undoubtedly the best set of fans in football at this level and arguably a few levels above. I don't know a footballer who wouldn't enjoy playing in front of the F-Troop in Cornwall."

After speculation of the transfer, Bray-Evans is looking forward to beginning his Falmouth career: "I can't wait, I've been itching for it to be honest. I've been to watch a couple of the last league games and although it's been great to watch I want to be on the pitch. I'm hoping to hit the ground running and pick up from where I left from Newquay.

"I joined from a personal point of view of wanting to win trophies and challenge for silverware, I believe that this squad of players has the potential to do that and I want to be a part of helping that." Said Bray-Evans.

The signing reunites Bray-Evans with Andrew Westgarth and having the opportunity to play for Westgarth excited Falmouth's new signing. "He's (Andrew Westgarth) a top bloke and he shares similar ideas with me in regards to football. Andy's done a fantastic job so far and it's something I want to be part of.

"I feel being around him and the rest of the Falmouth management will only help my personal development as a player we are always able to learn more from them."
Bray-Evans' move means he follows in the footsteps of his father Dominic Evans who previously played and won a treble with Falmouth Town.

Falmouth Town Manager Andrew Westgarth was delighted to have completed the deal, speaking to the Packet he said: "It is great to get the deal over the line, Jack is one of those rarities in Cornish football he was a one-club man, I thought he'd stay at Newquay forever. To actually get the deal done is really pleasing.

"I've known Jack for a long time, I played at Newquay over ten years ago and Jack was a youngster there in and around the squad then when we won the West Division.
"I have been an admirer of Jack over the years. I think as the years have progressed his numbers have improved and he has developed into a top top player in this league. Off the back of having a good start, it is great to strengthen the squad and he gives us great competition."

Westgarth confirmed that Bray - Evans will be available for selection for Saturday's Cornwall Senior Cup match against St Dennis.

"It is a tidy boost because the last couple of games the squad has been tested with injuries and people being away so it is great timing for us. I think he can fit anywhere, all of our front players can play across the front free, Jack is very versatile he can play as a number ten, a number nine, he can play out left or right so he gives us great options." Westgarth added.
