A BEACH clean in Falmouth got a dose of glamour today when reality TV star Amy Christophers from Married At First Sight gave a helping hand.

Amy, who is from Falmouth, joined deputy mayor Kirstie Edwards of Plastic Free Falmouth on Swanpool Beach this morning to help clean up the beach.

Posting pictures to her 186,000 followers on Instagram under her account @thatsportspice, the breakout star of Channel Four's hit TV show encouraged her followers to look after the planet: "Had a lovely morning helping @plasticfreefalmouth_official & @surfersagainstsewage with their beach clean…so satisfying & rewarding knowing that's a whole load of rubbish not going into our oceans or harming wildlife!

"And everything collected gets sorted into piles, weighed & sorted for recycling, charity shops if decent or sent to the inferno for reusable energy!! Here’s today’s breakdown from what everyone collected:

5kg recyclable plastic

7kg off to energy recovery

5kg metal car parts (?!) off for recycling

2kg clothing (will be washed and sent to charity)

1kg glass off for recycling

1 football that will be reused

"It’s so easy to do your bit for our planet, we’ve only got one and we need to look after it. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk…off for a roast with the girls now. #wholesomesunday."

Posting on Facebook Kirstie Edwards posted said: "When you get caught unawares by this lovely lady while clearing up rubbish. Wasn’t quite ready to be on an Instagram story with that many viewers."

34-year-old Amy is a sports presenter now, but she previously had a ten year career in glamour modeling. She was paired up with Josh Christie in the TV programme.
