A call is presently being made to ask all the Cornish MPs to speak to the Chancellor of the Exchequer about supporting the Stadium for Cornwall in the upcoming Spending Review.

A promotional video including well known presenter John Inverdale, Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas, former England & British Lions player Simon Shaw MBE has been created encouraging people to support the £14m project.

If built, ‘Sportva Kernow’, the Stadium for Cornwall, will be a Sports, Health & Education campus - and a rallying point for Cornish pride.

The new stadium will help the health of community, deliver new jobs and opportunities for young people, and help with Cornwall's levelling up agenda.

The video demonstrates the plans for the stadium which include: world class facilities on and off the pitch, as well as Truro and Penwith's sport science department, award winning training restaurant, a gaming and broadcast studio and the UK's first stadium based sports concussion unit.

The cost of the project was estimated at £14.3m. In April 2018 Cornwall Council pledged to fund three million pounds towards the project when council members voted 69-41 to back the project.

Meanwhile, in 2020 Lord Myners wrote to PM Boris Johnson asking to fund the Stadium for Cornwall as part of the governments plans to restore the economy, stating that the stadium if built would create 400 to 500 new jobs, as well as bringing in eight to ten million pounds every year to the local community.
