Cornwall's tech community is being invited to a free event to celebrate the launch of a new tech business hub.

Cornish software company Headforwards will be celebrating the official opening of its new FibreHub headquarters in Pool next month with a free event aimed at Cornwall’s tech industry.

The business, which is marking its 10th birthday this year and employs around 100 people, has created FibreHub as a new space where tech, software and digital businesses can connect.

FibreHub is also home to Software Cornwall and Unlocking Potential, whose ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) funded Digital Transformation Programme will operate from the building, hoping to bring together established tech companies with businesses looking to use digital tools to transform what they do.

There is also lettable space for other digital, software and tech organisations, co-working facilities, café and access to networking events.

Headforwards director and co-founder Toby Parkins said: "We’re really looking forward to the launch of FibreHub next month which will include the launch of Unlocking Potential’s Digital Transformation Space and Software Cornwall’s quarterly TechConnect event, welcoming the tech, software and digital communities to our new home.

"FibreHub is an opportunity to create a physical presence for Cornwall’s tech industry where we can nurture new talent and innovation, and is a forerunner of our much bigger ambition to create FibrePark, which will be a 7,000 square metre tech campus here in Pool."

The FibreHub launch event takes place on Thursday, November 4.
