Hotels from Cornwall and Devon have been named among the top 30 in the UK according to readers from Condé Nast Traveller.

In Truro, Cornwall the Hotel Tresanton was placed just outside the top 10 in 11th place, whilst the Pig at Combe in Devon was not far behind in 13th position.

On the Condé Nast Traveller website it said that hotels this year included "boutique boltholes jostling alongside the timeless classics".

Hotel Tresanton describes itself on its website as a collection of whitewashed buildings that create a "very relaxed, almost Mediterranean getaway".

It has 30 rooms and suites that all have sea views, that have been individually designed with antiques and Cornish art.

Meanwhile, the Pig at Combe can boast a honey-coloured Elizabethan building among the rolling Devonshire hills.

Spa treatments at the Potting Shed and cosy rooms are also benefits here.
