A FESTIVE feast of entertainment will be on offer in Falmouth this Christmas as the date for the lights switch is confirmed.
In a report to Falmouth Town Council tonight, town centre manager Richard Gates says ‘at present’ the Christmas lights switch on will take place on Thursday, November 25.
The live nativity, however will not be taking place this year but Falmouth’s Festive Weekend will be going ahead on Saturday December 11 to Sunday, December 12.
This will involve snow machines, land train, Helter Skelter, artificial ice rink, street entertainment and more.
Mr Gates says he will have more details at the next meeting of Falmouth Town Council.
It has not been revealed who will be switching on the lights this year. This will be the first time since 2019 that there has been a proper switching on of Falmouth's Christmas lights.
Large crowds usually gather on the Moor in Falmouth in front of a stage for the traditional switch-on of the Christmas lights
Last year Falmouth had a Virtual Community Christmas as it couldn't go ahead because of the Covid lockdown.
It has also not yet been announced whether Falmouth Community Choir will be taking to the streets on Christmas Eve this year.
