The member of staff that sadly passed away on the grounds of a school in Camborne has been named in a letter to parents.

Neil Browning, the 'much loved and respected' groundsman of Camborne Science and International Academy sadly passed away at the school yesterday (Thurs 14 Oct).

In a letter sent out to parents, Principal Ian Kenworthy described how Neil had taken great pride in ensuring the grounds showcased the school in the very best light and would often attract positive comments from staff and visitors.

The principal also described it as a very sad day for the CSIA learning community and that Neil would be greatly missed by all.

A police vehicle and several ambulances were spotted at the school at approximately 14:30 yesterday afternoon, with the school later confirming that a member of staff had died.

In a statement released yesterday, the school said that its thoughts and sympathies are with the member of staff's family.

Alongside this, the school also mentioned that it would be supporting the family of the deceased.

A spokesperson for Camborne Science and International Academy said: "It is with deep regret that a much loved and respected colleague of Camborne Science and International Academy passed away on Thursday 14 October in school.

"Our thoughts and sincerest sympathies are with their family.

"We ask for your respect and privacy as we support our school’s community through this time."
