Troon AFC Walking Football Club have begun a fundraiser as they look to secure portable defibrillator for which they could take to training and matches.
The team have set a target of £1000 to purchase the portable defibrillator and as of writing have secured £280 towards that total.
Troon AFC Walking Football are a Walking Football team aged between 50-89 from Troon in Cornwall.
Their team ethos is: Fun, Friendship, Fitness, Fair Play and Footie.....oh and banana cake!
They aim to get mature men and women out and about to get fit, remain healthy and reduce social isolation.
The club believe it's vital to have one pitch side at all times, even in their away trips.
A defibrillator is a potentially life-saving device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.
This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.
