A man has admitted raping and sexually assaulting women in Truro earlier this year.

Matthew Paul Addison had previously failed to appear at two previous court hearings, but finally made it before a judge at Truro Crown Court today (Friday, October 15). He had been remanded in custody up to this point.

Addison, of St Clements Close, Tregolls, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, as well as one charge of sexual assault and another of assault by beating.

The offences took place between July 17 and July 18 this year, in Truro.

The 48-year-old pleaded not guilty to a charge of burglary and another of fraud by false representation.

Addison was remanded back into custody by Judge Robert Linford, ahead of his sentencing in December.

Judge Linford ordered that in the meantime a psychiatric report should be compiled on Addison.
