A MOTORIST is in hospital in a critical condition with 'life threatening' injuries after a two vehicle collision which closed the A30 last night.
The two car collision on the A30 between A3047 at Camborne West and B3301 Carwin Rise at Loggans Moor Camborne last night involved a Toyota and Nissan cars.
A police spokesperson confirmed that one of the male drivers of one of the vehicles was in hospital in a critical condition while the driver of the other vehicle was treated as 'walking wounded' at the scene.
"It was a serious two vehicle RTA and one person is in hospital in a critical condition," they said. "One of the drivers of one of the vehicles sustained life threatening injuries.
Multiple emergency services were called to the scene following the accident at around 7pm last night (October 16) with the road closed for several hours and not reopening until 6.45am this morning (October 17).
Drivers were reportedly U-turning on the road following the accident and the traffic management site Inrix described the incident as serious.
At the time National Highways; South West tweeted advising drivers to use alternative routes : "#A30 will now be closed both directions between Camborne and Loggans Moor due to the earlier road traffic collision. @dc_pol are still on scene and dealing. Please use alternative routes."
