Poundstretcher has confirmed when - and where - it will be opening a new discount store in Helston.

On Saturday the Packet revealed that Poundstretcher had posted on its website saying it is to open a branch in the town and has opened up applications for a range of jobs there.

However, the exact location and opening date of the new store still remained a mystery.

The company has now confirmed to the Packet though that the store will be opening on Saturday, November 13.

And a spokesperson also confirmed that the location of the shop would be in the former Original Factory Shop, as suspected.

Rumours had been swirling that the building in Coinagehall Street, which is currently being refitted, was being turned into a discount shop.

This was further backed up by the postcode given on the Poundstretcher website for the new store, TR13 8ER, which centres on Coinagehall Street.

However, workmen at the site had remained tight-lipped, including when the Packet went to ask for details on what was happening for the building.

Poundstretcher  hasposted under the careers section of its website: "New store opening- management team and sales assistants."

The post goes on to add: "We are opening a new store in your area! Helston - TR13 8ER. We are looking to a full management team which includes store manager, deputy manager and key holders. We are also looking for part time sales assistants "If you are up to the challenge of opening a new store click ‘apply’ today!"

The company said it was keen to hear from any retail manager, store manager, deputy manager, assistant manager and duty manager.
