A charity mascot who has been on a mission to complete three charity challenges – on land, air, and sea – will be completing her final one this weekend.

Betty Stogs, originally the mascot for the Skinners Brewery beer of the same name but has since developed her own charity persona, has already completed a cycle ride and sky dive in aid of Children's Hospice South West in their 30th year.

She will be taking on her third and final challenge this weekend, and the money from this event will be split between the hospice and the RNLI.

Betty and friends will be transporting a barrel of Skinners beer from Truro to Falmouth – a distance of more than ten miles – on a man-made raft.

The challenge will take place this Sunday, leaving Sunny Corner, Truro at 8.30am and arriving at Custom House Quay for 1pm, where there will be a welcome party including an afternoon of shanty singing outside the The Front.

Popular singing groups Hit & Miss and Bryher's Boys will be performing, with Fred Thomas, who plays Betty, saying that if wet The Front has offered the use of its pub for the singing, while the barrel challenge will take place come rain or shine.
