A decision has been made over whether Flora Day 2022 will be planned to go ahead following a meeting of organisers last night.

While government restrictions are currently removed, with all limits on social contact now ended and large events allowed again in England, during his confirmation of the new rules back in the summer the Prime Minister emphasised that the guidance was for "personal judgement and responsibility" to be used.

Up to this point no official confirmation had been given about Flora Day 2022, although the collective hope was that it would be all systems go next year after two cancelled events and a Facebook 'event' posted at the start of September gave the first official indication that the intention was there.

Helston Flora Day Association met last night (Tuesday) to discuss the plans for next year and a spokesperson has confirmed to the Packet that at the meeting it was agreed to push ahead with organising next year's event, Covid restrictions permitting.
