The tree was damaged in the 'tornado last night and had to be removed.
A Beech tree which came down in the night was found to have rotten roots. An inspection of other trees in the row resulted in this tree having to come down as well.
It was felled cleanly coming down in the park. The road was reopened at 4pm.
Elsewhere a yacht caused damage to the wall at Flushing Sailing Club with the steps reportedly destroyed, although ''surprisingly" little damage to the yacht.
The yacht has reportedly been removed but steps down to the pontoon have been smashed and are 'pretty unuseable'. Picture Flushing Sailing Club.
