Two renewable energy businesses, based in Newquay, have been crowned the best in the South West at this year’s energy efficiency awards.

Harvest Cornwall picked up Renewable Energy Installer of the year whilst Naked Solar has been recognised as Solar PV Installer of the year.

Family-run business, Harvest Cornwall has been fitting heat pumps and solar panels since 2012 and were also announced as the UK’s most Sustainable Heating Installer in 2020.

Jonathan Coyle, founder and managing director of Harvest Cornwall, said: "We’re thrilled.

"We work hard to provide a quality service, so we all feel extremely proud to be recognised for our efforts.

"There was some tough competition, so we feel honoured to be representing our county and very proud that Cornwall is leading the way for renewable technologies."

Naked Solar are a Newquay-based installer of Solar PV to both homes and businesses throughout the South West.

The company have been trading since 2010, and claim their ethos centres around giving customers an informed choice with regards to renewables.

The Energy Efficiency Awards 2020/21 recognise installers across the country who deliver quality workmanship, excellent customer service and demonstrate best practice within their local community.

The judges commended the Cornish companies for their ‘clear and evident commitment during the last 16 -18months marking their ‘dedication to clients and supporting their community during a pandemic as 'exceptional.’
