A Friday night derby fixture under the floodlights beckons as Falmouth Town take on Wendron United in the South West Peninsula League (SWPL) on November 12.

It is a battle of first vs fifth in the table as both sides look to extend their unbeaten streaks. Falmouth, who are top, have won every league game so far this season, it is their first league fixture for over a month.

Wendron are undefeated in their last six games in all competitions. Kick off at Bickland Park is at 7:30pm.

The last time the two sides met was on the first day of the league campaign, also on a Friday night. Two half first goals from Falmouth’s Tim Nixon secured the victory for Town on the day.

Elsewhere in the SWPL ninth-placed Penryn Athletic are at home to Launceston.

Penryn will be looking to bounce back from their penalty shootout defeat to Dobwalls last time out in the Cornwall Senior Cup.

The sides last met in the league on the opening day of the season where Launceston eased to a 4-1 victory. Launceston are 11th in the table and lost 3-1 to Sticker in the Cornwall Senior Cup in their last match.

In the Toolstation Western League Helston Athletic are home again at Kellaway Park as they take on 15th placed Street.

A win would make it three in a row for the Blues who have won both of their last two games by a scoreline of 3-2. It would also put the pressure on their title rivals, some of who have played four games more than Helston this season.

In the Cornwall FA Women's County Cup Penryn Ladies host South West Regional Women's Football League high flyers Helston Athletic, Penryn lost to Helston's development side 3-7 in their last game. Elsewhere in the competition FXSU ladies play Charlestown Ladies at Falmouth School Astro, and Wendron United Ladies play Dropship Ladies.
