The daily cases of coronavirus in Cornwall have risen again, with another death also recorded today.

Today's daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly show 349 new people tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 hours, up on yesterday's figure of 329.

The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay. The latest data shows a combined 2064 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Saturday, November 6, a fall on yesterday 2,139 weekly total.

The weekly case rate average has now fallen to 358.6 cases per 100,000, down from a 371.7 average yesterday. For this figure the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now over 60,000 at 60,325.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK on yesterday showed 42,408 new cases, up from 39,329 yesterday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 9,448,402.

In the most recent update from NHS England the combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic has risen to 329.

The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic remains at 264, after new deaths on October 31, November 4, November 5 and November 6. At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure has risen by one, to 65.

The government’s update, which shows the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – now stands at 582 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case.

The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate increased to 664 in the most recent data available this week. It shows that seven new deaths occurred in the week leading up to Friday, October 29, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show 195 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result today, down from 214 on Wednesday.

Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stand at 142,533. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Wednesday, November 10, 50,455,318 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 45,942,654 have had their second dose. A total of 11,452,654 have had their booster jab or third dose.

In Cornwall 447,739 have had their first jab while 417,882 have had their second.
