Three more Covid-related deaths have been recorded in Cornwall over the past 24 hours.

Today's daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly show 333 new people tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 hours, up on yesterday's figure of 282.

The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay. The latest data shows a combined 1,962 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Monday, November 8, a fall on yesterday's 2,017 weekly total.

The weekly case rate average has now fallen to 340.9 cases per 100,000, down from a 350.5 average yesterday. For this figure the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 60,940.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK on yesterday showed 38,351 new cases, down from 40,375 yesterday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 9,524,971.

NHS England no longer updates hospital death figures at the weekend. In the most recent update, on Friday, the combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic rose to 331.

The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic is now 266, after new deaths on November 9 and 10. At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure has risen by one in the past week, to 65.

The government’s update, which continues daily, showing the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 586 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case, a rise of three in the last 24 hours.

The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate increased to 664 in the most recent data available this week. It shows that seven new deaths occurred in the week leading up to Friday, October 29, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show 157 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result today, up from 145 yesterday.

Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stand at 142,835. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Friday, November 12, 50,525,259 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 45,985,795 have had their second dose. A total of 12,164,586 have had their booster jab or third dose.

In Cornwall 448,737 have had their first jab while 418,260 had their second.
