They say that drinking alcohol affects your judgement, well one driver thought it would be a good idea to drive onto Towan Beach while two times over the drink drive limit.
Inevitably he got stuck in the sand and was arrested by Newquay Police Response Unit testing positive for alcohol last night. He spent the night in the cells with the police tweeting #oneincustody #notaccpetable
Tweeting images of the car stuck in the sand as @NewquayResponse, Newquay police said:
"Not the best idea to drive a rear-wheeled drive vehicle onto #towanbeach and get it stuck. Especially when you are two times the drink drive limit. #oneincustody #notacceptable"

The stranding follows a number of incidents over the summer when drivers got themselves stuck in the sand on beaches, although there is no suggestion that they were over the limit.
In May an SUV was swept into the sea at Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes after getting stuck in on the slipway.
The SUV from the Midlands could be seen perched precariously over the edge of a wall, which has apparently been misjudged or lay unseen until it was too late, before the power of the sea did its work.
