The Falmouth Packet, in its edition of February 2, 1973, ran a full page feature on the businesses on the Moor, titled ‘All roads lead to THE MOOR’.
The photos show what life used to be like on the Moor in Falmouth and the surrounding areas.
It is fascinating to see what has changed and which businesses are still there!
Lewis Motors (now Ocean BMW/Mini) was a convenient fuel stop on Falmouth Road – but no fuel there now.
Included also are photos of the well-stocked Health Food Shop at 57 Killigrew Street in January 1973, Park Grove Hotel at the junction of Kimberley Park and Trevethan Roads, and an impressive Tautliner lorry belonging to Falmouth Transport Company on 31 September 1972.
The photos have kindly been provided by The Poly in Falmouth.
