A road near Wendron is closed and traffic is slow in both directions after an accident this morning.

The B3297 through Wendron is closed in both directions after an accident involving two vehicles from Rowes Lane to Crelly.

The incident took place this morning and the road has been closed since around 7:40am this morning.

According to Inrix sensors,the road has been closed in both directions despite earlier confirmation of it only being closed northbound.

The Inrix update stated: "B3297 both ways closed, slow traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved from Rowes Lane (Wendron) to Crelly (Crelly).

"Closed since 07:40, sensors indicate that the road has been closed both ways despite earlier confirmation of the road only being closed northbound."

It has been reported that the closures have caused disruption to parents and teachers trying to get to Wendron as well as those commuting from Helston to Redruth.

It is not yet known when the road will reopen.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the B3297 near Helston at around 7am today (Nov 23).

"Minor injuries have been reported.

"The road is currently closed while recovery of the vehicles is being arranged.

"The incident is ongoing."
