The daily Covid case rate in Cornwall remains on an upward curve, as one new death is reported today.

Tuesday's daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly showed 390 new people tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 hours, a increase on Monday's figure of 370.

The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay. The latest data shows a combined 2,566 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Thursday, November 18, a rise on Monday's 2,447 weekly total.

The weekly case rate average has also risen to 445.9 cases per 100,000, up from a 425.2 average on Monday. For this figure the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 64,49.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK shows 42,484 new cases, a fall from 44,917 cases on Monday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 9,932,408.

In the most recent update, the combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic stands at 336.

The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic stands at 271, with one new death reported on November 18.

At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure remains at 65.

The government’s update, which continues to be updated daily, showing the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – stands at 596 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case, with one new death reported on Tuesday.

The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate now stands at 686 in the most recent data available this week. It shows that 14 new deaths occurred in the week leading up to Friday, November 12, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show 165 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result on Tuesday, up from 45 on Monday.

Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stand at 144,137. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Monday, November 22, 50,800,732 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 46,186, 817 have had their second dose. A total of 15,639, have had their booster jab or third dose.

In Cornwall 451,155 have had their first jab while 419,810 have had their second.
