Police are investigating after a vehicle collided with a building in Truro yesterday (Tues 23).
The incident happened at around 4pm on Tuesday November 23 on Clements Street in Truro and reportedly caused significant traffic congestion in the area.
While it is still unknown exactly what happened, police responded to reports that a Volkswagen car had struck the side of a building causing significant damage and taking a chunk out of the building where its front door once was.
The road was closed and it is unknown for how long the closure will last.
Photographs of the incident, taken by the BBC, show the scale of the damage, with bricks and debris scattered across the Clements Street pavement.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were contacted at around 4pm on Tuesday 23 November with reports of a single vehicle collision involving a Volkswagen car having collided with a building on Clements Street, Truro.
"The driver subsequently left the scene.
"The building had sustained serious damage and Fire were called to assist with assessing the building and to make the area safe.
"Closures are in place on Clements Street and will remain in place for the foreseeable future whilst structural checks of the property take place.
"A male claiming to be the driver of the vehicle has since made himself known to police and enquiries continue into this matter.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage that could aid with the investigation is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk quoting log number 496 23 November.
