Gritters will be out in parts of Cornwall tonight as temperatures are set to plummet to low single figures - and it will feel even colder.

Cornwall Council has released a list of places where grit is being spread on roads as a precaution.

The gritters will be concentrating on the central and eastern parts of the county, where temperatures are set to drop as low as 1°C in some places, although with the wind chill taken into account could feel more like -2°C.

The list includes Truro, Newquay, St Austell, Wadebridge, Camelford, Bude, Launceston, Liskeard, Looe, Callington, Saltash and Torpoint, which are all on the council's precautionary salting routes.

Releasing the list, the council said: "Please drive with care."
