Today's daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly show 432 new people tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 hours, an increase on Saturday's figure of 410.

The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay. The latest data shows a combined 2,801 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Tuesday, November 23, a rise on Saturday's 2,791 weekly total.

The weekly case rate average has also risen to 486.7 cases per 100,000, up again from a 484.9 average yesterday. For this figure the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 67,166.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK shows 42,583 new cases, up from 37,681 cases on Saturday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 10,146,915

When it comes to recent hospital admissions in Cornwall, there were 29 patients with the virus in Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust hospitals and five patients in Cornwall Partnership Trust hospitals on Tuesday, November 23 - the most recent data given by the government. Two were in ventilation beds.

The national figures are even more up to date, and show a total of 7,530 patients with the virus in UK hospitals as of this Friday, November 26, with 925 in ventilation beds.

In the most recent update from NHS England, the combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic has risen to 339.

The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic now stands at 274, following one new death reported in today's figures (Monday). 

At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure remains at 65.

The government’s update shows the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – remaining at 599 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case.

The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate now stands at 686 in the most recent data available this week. It shows that 14 new deaths occurred in the week leading up to Sunday, November 14, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show 35 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result, down from 51 on Saturday.

Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stand at 167,927. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Saturday, November 27, 50,917,949 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 46,309,909 have had their second dose. A total of 17,896,864 have had their booster jab or third dose.

In Cornwall 452,686 have had their first jab while 420,936 have had their second. No booster details are given.
