Porthleven is getting decidedly festive this week.

Kicking off the festivities will be the Porthleven Christmas Light switch on Friday December 3 at 6.30pm and a chance to wander around the local shops and stalls.

The Shipyard Market will be open until 9pm where you can warm up with mulled wine and listen to music from Akoustek.

Christmas trees will be available from the Porthleven Shipyard all week.

Saturday December 4 and Sunday the 5 will be the main Porthleven Christmas Market weekend with all the outdoor market areas reopening for the weekend plus further pop up stalls located in The Porthleven Shipyard.

Hannabeth Johnson, The Porthleven Harbour Markets Manager said: "There will be diverse range of local traders including, local craft, art, food and drink producers attending so will be a great opportunity to grab some unique Christmas presents."

As well as the opportunity to grab some Christmas presents Santa will be flying in for the weekend to meet everyone.

You can find Santa's Grotto inside The Shipyard Market on both Saturday and Sunday where he will raise money for The Porthleven Christmas Lights.

The final yuletide treat of the weekend will be the Bryher’s Boys who will be performing festive and Cornish songs in The Shipyard Market on Sunday the December 5.

Hannabeth Johnson, added: "As well as the market areas Porthleven is such a lovely place tovisit and stroll around with so many unique shops.

"The Christmas market weekend should be a lovely opportunity to have some fun and buy some locally made gifts from small producers."

The Porthleven Christmas Markets weekend will start on Friday the 3rd December with thePorthleven Christmas Lights Switch and late night market until 9pm.

Then the main Christmas Market will be held on Sat December 5 and Sun 6 from 10am to 6pm.
