Hugely popular American band My Chemical Romance has added a second night in Cornwall.

The Eden Project announced today that the band will now play two consecutive nights in front of the famous Biomes next year.

It was already scheduled to play a sold-out show on May 17, 2002 and now it will also appear the previous evening, May 16.

Rita Broe, managing director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: “Since we announced My Chemical Romance would be coming to Eden the response from fans has been incredible.

“We’re delighted to now be able to say they will play an additional show on May the 16th. We’re sure their huge army of fans will be as thrilled as we are at this amazing coup.”

My Chemical Romance members have previously said they were drawn to appear at the home of the world-renowned environmental and educational charity due to Eden’s green credentials and ground-breaking programmes aimed at inspiring and educating people about humanity’s reliance on the natural world.

The band formed in Newark, New Jersey, and made its debut in 2002 with the independently released album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

It signed to Reprise Records the following year and made its major label debut with Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004. The album contained the Platinum hit I'm Not Okay (I Promise), the Gold-certified Helena, and The Ghost of You.

The three-times Platinum The Black Parade was hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top albums of 2006. The lead single Welcome to the Black Parade topped both Billboard's Alternative Songs tally and the UK Official Singles Chart.

The band toured extensively behind the album – appearing as characters from The Black Parade – and released the live album The Black Parade is Dead! in 2008.
