A proposed business park extension could see ten new businesses come to Helston.

The MJL Group has applied for planning permission to build ten commercial units, together with an internal service road, to create a 'block F' at Helston Business Park.

Site owner Matt Lugg, managing director of MJL Cornwall Ltd, has already developed a number of units on the site, which has seen big name national firms such as Bradfords Building Supplies and Screwfix move into the town.

The ten commercial units are proposed within two new buildings, with five units seen at each building.

The single-storey buildings are planned to face end-on to the road, along the sites northwest side.

A tarmacked area is proposed between the two buildings, to provide 27 parking spaces along with room for off road manoeuvring.

Currently, pedestrian and vehicular access to the site is provided by an unadopted road running through the business park, which connects to Tresprison Road and the A394.

The proposals also include a new internal service road to connect to the existing unadopted road, along the southern boundary.

Planning agents Laurence Associates said: "The proposals would result in the provision of ten new commercial units, which will create local employment opportunities both during their construction and operation."
