A MAN from Penzance has been fined for driving under the influence of cocaine earlier in the year.
Dale Webster, who is 27 years old and from Tregaseal in St Just, Penzance, was found to have driven an Audi A4 while having more than the legal limit of the controlled substance in his blood.
The offence occurred at Treswithian Road in Camborne on Friday, April 16.
Webster appeared at Truro Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 4 and pleaded guilty to using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance as well as driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, at the first opportunity.
Webster was disqualified from holding or obtaining a license for three years, which is obligatory for such an offence, and was fined £120.
He was also made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 as well as pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Driving without third party insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence are both offences punishable by a possibly unlimited fine.
