Reports are circulating that armed police have cordoned off a road in Cornwall after the apparent discovery of 'a possible explosive device.'
Residents have reportedly claimed that St Dennis, near St Austell, has been closed off by armed response units after the device was found in Penwyn Garages.
The device is reportedly being assessed by Royal Navy EOD.
According to police, a local man is currently in police custody in connection with the incident.
Police are remaining on the scene and a cordon and scene guard are in place.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at Penwyn Garages after a possible explosive device was located in a vehicle.
"The item is currently being assessed by the Royal Navy EOD.
"A 30-year-old man from St Austell has been arrested in connection to this matter.
"Officers remain in the area and a cordon and scene guard are in place."
