The last set of football matches before Christmas are set to take place this weekend.

In the South West Peninsula League Falmouth Town have won every game so far this season, and will be looking to extend that record when they travel to Launceston at Pennygillam. Their hosts are tenth in the league table with seven wins, three draws and nine losses from their 19 games played this campaign. In their last match Falmouth made it difficult for themselves but came from behind to beat Wadebridge Town 4-2 thanks to a superb David Broglino brace plus goals from Jack Bray-Evans and Luke Brabyn.

When the two sides met earlier in the season Falmouth dominated proceedings and cruised to a 5-0 home victory.

Two goals from Luke Barner plus strikes from Alex Wharton, Brabyn and Broglino sealed the points for Falmouth that day. Town currently are 12 points clear at the top of the table.

Wendron United completed the 'triple' over St Austell last weekend with a 2-0 away win and they will be hoping to make it three wins in a row in the league when they host Newquay at Underlane.

The visitors are just one place and one point behind Dron, emphasising the importance of this match. In the reverse fixture back in August Wendron won 4-2 with a Cam Wheat bagging a hat trick and Sam Young scoring to seal the points on the day.

Penryn Athletic haven't had a league game since December 4 and haven't won a match since late October but have an opportunity to return to the right side of the scoresheet when they host 14th placed Bodmin Town at Kernick Road, a win would still keep Athletic 11th in the table as they trail tenth placed Launceston by four points.

In the Toolstation Western League Helston Athletic have their third away game on the bounce when they travel to Shepton Mallet. Although their five match winning run came to an end last time out in a 1-1 draw to Exmouth, Athletic are unbeaten in 15 league games.

The Blues will be without top scorer Stu Bowker however, the 20 goal striker was controversially shown a red card in his last match following an off the ball incident with an opposing player.

A win for Helston could take them to second place with current occupiers Bitton not playing on the weekend. The case still remains that if Helston will all of their three games in hand they go top of the table ahead of leaders Tavistock.

Mousehole have continued their meteoric rise up the Western League having one five of their last six games.

This run of form has seen them climb to sixth in the table, like Helston they have games in hand over their rivals which will give them an advantage later in the season. They are away to 17th placed Street on the weekend.
