Carn Marth

The ancient hill of Carn Marth offers spectacular views and on a good day you can even see both coasts.

For almost 200 years it was used as a quarry, which has also shaped the landscape including the formation of lakes, one quarry which has been converted into an ampitheatre and building ruins.

Cudden Point

There are numerous routes to take for a walk at Cudden Point, so you should find something to match your level of dedication on Boxing Day.

Rosemullion Head

This headland lies around five miles from Falmouth itself.

For history buffs, Rosemullion Head has several nods to the area's past, such as the remains of an Iron Age cliff castle and a nineteenth century boundary stone.

Goonhilly Downs

Just south of Helston, this place offers a change the normal views you might expect on a countryside yomp.

Famous for the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station, the dishes are iconic. It is also home to a 12-megawatt wind farm, with six wind turbines supporting a tourist attraction called Cornish Camels.

Idless woods

If you're looking to find peace and tranquility from your Boxing Day walk, around two miles north of Truro is Idless Wood. Head there for a spot of tree bathing and to spots signs of the diverse wildlife living there.
