A Truro and Penwith College student who’s returned to education after almost 50 years and has achieved distinctions on her latest educational adventure.

Sue Trebilcock from St Columb achieved a distinction grade in her ‘Access to HE: Computing’ course and also won the CAVA ‘Keith Fletcher Award’ for Outstanding Academic Achievement, coming top out of 3064 students.

Sue left school with no qualifications but she didn’t let that stop her, she let it inspire her to do her best.

Access courses are a steppingstone to a University Level education and to a new career, designed for adults who do not have the previous qualifications to enable them to study at a higher level straight away.

Sue did her Access course order to study the FdSc Cyber Security course at Truro College, and she aims to work in Cyber Security.

She said: "It’s never too late!

"I’m living proof.

"I’m 65 next year and I’m not retiring, I’m starting again!"
