Donations for a family facing Christmas have reached almost £11,000.
Speaking to the Packet, Lisa-marie Williams said she was "so grateful" for everyone who had gone "above and beyond" to support her and her six children, including people she doesn't even know.
Lisa and her children, aged between one and 14, had to flee their house in Ruan Minor late on Saturday night after a fire broke out.
Despite the best efforts of firefighters from Mullion, Helston, St Keverne, Falmouth and Tolvaddon, the three-storey house was left gutted by the flames.
On Sunday the community of Ruan Minor and beyond rallied behind the family, offering accommodation, clothes, toys and bedding, and currently stands just short of £10,800 in donations, on Tuesday evening.
Speaking to the Packet, Lisa said: “I want to say a huge thank you to every single person that has helped, donated and supported me through this very difficult time. I’m so lucky to live in such a wonderful community and my family, friends and people that I don’t even know, what they have achieved is amazing. They have gone above and beyond.
"I’m just so grateful we all got out and my children are safe, that’s the main thing. Thank you to everyone so, so much.”
Lisa's family and friends have spent the last two days sorting through piles of clothes, toys and other donations that have filled Ruan Minor Village Hall after the appeal went out.
Sam Jane, one of a number of friends who has been organising the collection of items, said: "Once again we have been amazed by everyone’s generosity. I’m really pleased to say we have now finished bagging up everything needed and they’ll be going to where Lisa and the children will be staying."
Today the group of friends have been sorting through the clothes and toys that are not needed, and will get them ready to sell in a table top sale to boost the fundraising further.
They have also been wrapping new toys that have been kindly donated, for the children to open at Christmas.
"We will let everyone know when we have a date for the sale but it will be before the new year. A huge thank you once again for everyone’s kind support, you have all been brilliant," added Sam.
She encouraged anyone still wanting to show their support to donate to the fundraising set up by the Sparkle Foundation.
People can donate via text by texting the word FAMILYCHRISTMAS followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount.
Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you’ll be opting in to hearing more from the charity. If you would like to donate but don't wish to hear more, text the word FAMILYCHRISTMASNOINFO instead.
