THE Royal Cornwall Hospital is warning people to not travel to the A&E this morning department unless it is really necessary.
In a tweet this morning, The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust said it already has 54 people in its emergency department in Truro and seven people waiting.
"Please consult NHS 111 before you travel to the emergency department today. NHS 111 will direct you to the best health service for you. Chances are you'll be seen more quickly and closer to home."

The call was echoed by The Cornwall NHS Partnership Foundation Trust who said the emergency department in Truro is already very busy this morning,
"The emergency department in Truro is already very busy today. Call 111 and the experts will direct you to an alternative NHS service which could include of our minor injury units. You'll probably be seen more quickly and closer to home."
