A marine conservation group has announced two speaking events that will be taking place this month.

Helford Marine Conservation Group had hoped to be back at Gweek Village Hall in 2022, however, due to Covid, this is not to be just yet, and so the group will be zooming into the New Year with two January talks, the first about seagrass, the second seals and beavers at Gweek Seal Sanctuary.

On Thursday, January 13, Dr. Chris Laing, Senior Lecturer at Exeter University, Cornwall, will be presenting findings from his research into the carbon storage and health of seagrass beds in the Fal and Helford area.

His work included boat, diving and snorkelling surveys and was funded by Cornwall Council.

Both talks begin at 7.30pm.
