The season is returning to its regular Saturday 3 pm slots after the Christmas period and sides across the Duchy will be hoping that rain and Covid won't force too many matches to be postponed.
In the South West Peninsula League, one match was postponed on Friday morning.
Penryn Athletic were set to take on Newquay AFC but the game will be replayed at a later date at the request of the home side due to positive PCR Covid tests in the Athletic playing squad.
Game OFF!
— SOUTH WEST PENINSULA FOOTBALL LEAGUE (@swpleague) January 7, 2022
The Premier West fixture between Penryn Athletic & Newquay on Sat (8th Jan) is OFF following a request with PCR evidence, by Penryn, of Covid cases in the squad.@penrynathletic @newquay_afc @swsportsnews @Cornishfootball
Elsewhere, Falmouth Town will be itching to get back to action after their Walter C Parson Cup fixture against Okehampton Argyle was postponed due to Covid in the Argyle team. It means Falmouth haven't played since the 5-0 win over Penryn on Boxing Day. They take on fifth-placed Dobwalls at Bickland Park, as they search for the 19th league win in a row.
There is a third vs fourth clash at Underlane as Wendron United take on Liskeard Athletic. The Dron will be looking to bounce back from a heavy 0-6 defeat to Bodmin Town in the Walter C Parson Cup although Wendron somehow hit the post five times without scoring.
However, their league form is strong, with four wins on the bounce propelling them back to the upper regions of the table. Another three points could take them to second depending on the outcome of Camelford's match against lowly St Dennis.
South West Peninsula League Fixtures:
Camelford AFC v St Dennis
Falmouth Town v Dobwalls AFC
Godolphin Atlantic (Newquay) v Bodmin Town
Sticker AFC v St Austell
Wadebridge Town v St Blazey
Wendron United v Liskeard Athletic
In the Toolstation Western League Helston Athletic are set to play their first home match since a 1-0 victory over Shepton Mallet on November 20. One win, one draw, two successive defeats, plus a postponement have followed which has seen the Blues slide to sixth place in what is a closely congested Western League Table.
Athletic take on 15th placed Wellington who they defeated 3-1 in early December thanks to a brace from the since-departed Billy Tucker and a goal from Stu Bowker.
A win could take Helston as high as second, but that is strongly dependant on results elsewhere, remarkably the fight in the top half of the table continues to grow with just five points separating second from ninth in the division.
Toolstation Western League fixtures:
Bitton v Buckland Athletic
Clevedon Town v Mousehole
Helston Athletic v Wellington
Saltash United v Bridgwater United
Shepton Mallet v Exmouth Town

In the St Piran League West Porthleven will be aiming to make it two wins on the bounce when they travel to 14th placed Redruth United. A victory for Porthleven could elevate them to ninth depending on the result of Helston Athletic Reserves match.
St Piran League fixtures:
Hayle v Falmouth Town AFC Reserves
Ludgvan v Perranporth
Mousehole Development v Illogan RBL
Redruth United v Porthleven
St Agnes v Perranwell
