A PORTHLEVEN man who was caught by police driving whilst practically twice the drink drive limit has been banned from driving for nearly a year and a half.

Jamie Liam Moore, 27 of Peverell Terrace pleaded guilty to driving his VW Golf in Kenwyn Road, Truro whilst under the influence of alcohol on November 28 last year.

At a hearing at Truro Magistrates Court last Tuesday, January 4, Moore admitted driving after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath was 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Green was fined £415 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £42 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 17 months as disqualification is obligatory for this offence.

He was told his disqualification would be reduced by 17 weeks if by December 4, 2022 he satisfactorily completed a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course would not be more than £250. His driving record was also endorsed.
