HIGH HOPES: Flashback to Extinction Rebellion celebrating Cornwall Council's declaration of a Climate Emergency three years ago

Protestors will highlight missed opportunities, decisions made and actions taken by the council in the last three years that are at odds with a climate emergency declaration and bringing Cornwall to net zero by 2030. They will also highlight solutions and areas the council should and can work on.

The activists say this will be an eye-catching and theatrical event with a giant birthday cake, unhappy birthday cards to councillors, giant gift boxes with solutions written on them and unhappy birthday hats.

Protestors will sing a climate change themed "Unhappy birthday to you" song.

There will also be a Die In to symbolise the lives already being lost because of climate change.
