PEOPLE living in Helston have responded positively to reports of an all night rave taking place on National Trust land at Loe Bar.

Following a post on the Helston Facebook group by Marc Deveson saying "What's the bloomin' racket going on on Loe Bar this morning? Full on rave!" many people responded but in an unexpected way.

Becky Liddicoat Gilchrist posted: "I am absolutely disgusted about this !!! Where was my invite!!???"

While Pam Kitchen said: "Good luck to them, with lockdowns and restrictions for the last two years there’s not a lot else for them to do. If I wasn’t an old biddy and it wasn’t cold I’d join them!"

The majority, if not all the comments, were positive about the supposed rave with some saying they'd been down and the ravers were all "very polite" and had even done an extended litter pick.

Sam Rowe said: "Ran past them earlier all lovely and polite and behaving themselves." While Denise Facey replied: "Same for me, all polite and fine, some stamina as they were still going at 8am!"

Donna Perrin said: "Walked past with my dogs at 11.30 all polite and behaving themselves, bags of rubbish ready to go…nice to see people having fun."

Teres Dansun added: "Needs to happen more often. Cleanest I have seen it down there in a long time. They have proper litter picked everything. Nice one."

Sharon Kinsella said: "We ran that way this morning they where all lovely and polite and picking up litter, looked good fun to be honest."

However there have been complaints with one poster claimed that there were vans and tents all over the beach with people screaming at 6.30am.

Devon and Cornwall police said they had been informed about the event and had received noise complaints and had been keeping an eye on things in the evening but no action had been taken.
