Pantomime is returning to Helston at last – oh yes it is!

After missing out last year due to Covid restrictions, Helston Theatre Company will be back performing the comedy pantomime Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at The Epworth Hall next week.

Leading the large cast into all sorts of comic mayhem are Andy Christophers, who plays Nanny McFlurry, and Harry Charleston, who plays dimwitted Dick.

Andy is a panto veteran, having been in more than 20 productions. He has been Dame at The Regal Theatre in Redruth ten times, but has also played Buttons, barons, kings and a genie.

Harry will be no stranger to Helston audiences as he has been seen in many different productions at the Epworth Hall, and is known for being a talented young actor with great comic timing and impressive singing voice.

The show runs from next Wednesday, January 26, until Sunday, January 30, with a variety of evening and matinee performances and special ticket prices on opening night.

In line with current government rules audience members are required to wear a mask and other Covid guidelines will be in place to keep people safe.

Theatre company chair Paul Blaber said: "What better way to beat the winter and pandemic blues than escape to the world of traditional pantomime, where good overcomes evil and everyone lives happily ever after!"
