A thug who assaulted a woman in Helston has been handed down a restraining order and fined.

Liam Rabey, 26, of Park Crescent in Helston, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Helston in August of last year (2021).

Rabey was remanded on bail until January 17 while court was adjourned in order for a for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

When Rabey appeared at Truro Magistrates' Court he had already pleaded guilty to the offence and a community order was made in which he must participate in an accredited programme for 36 days.

Rabey was also ordered to carry out unpaid work for 150 hours within the next twelve months and a restraining order was also put in place preventing him from contacting the victim or visiting several places around Helston.

Alongside the community and restraining order, Rabey was also made to ay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95.00 as well as to pay costs of £85.00 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

No compensation was ordered because it was deemed to be inappropriate in the mind of the bench.
