A mining company in Cornwall has launched several community drop in sessions for residents to find out more about its research borehole proposals.
Cornish Lithium, the mineral exploration and development company that is headquartered at the Tremough Innovation Centre in Penryn, is proposing to drill a research borehole near Twelveheads, Chacewater early this year to test for lithium in geothermal waters.
Operations Manager, Mike Round, said: "As part of our community engagement programme for this proposed research borehole, we are hosting four public information events at locations around the Twelveheads area in the coming weeks.
"If you are a local resident who has questions about this proposed drill site - or Cornish Lithium's work to develop an environmentally-responsible source of lithium for the UK’s car industry - we'd like to hear from you, so please do come along to one of these drop-in sessions and meet the team."
The details of the upcoming sessions are as follows:
January 22, 2022 - 10:00am – 1:00pm at Twelveheads Methodist Church Hall
January 27 2022 - 9:00am – 11:00am at Bon Appetit Cafe
January 31, 2022 - 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Bon Appetit Cafe
February 02, 2022 - 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Crofthandy Village Hall
