Fire crews from across Cornwall spent more than 12 hours battling a house fire overnight.

Multiple crews have been at a property fire on Dunder’s Hill in Trebetherick, near Polzeath in north Cornwall since just after 7pm yesterday.

It was at 7.07pm on Friday that Critical Control began receiving multiple calls to say a house was on fire in the Polzeath area.

More than 12 hours later firefighters remained at the scene, with an update at 7.40am today saying that "good progress" was being made.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service posted at 3.15am this morning that firefighters were currently attending a fire at residential property.

A spokesperson said: "Crews from the county are still in attendance at the incident and are making steady progress.

"Main jets and and hose reel jets are in still use."

Earlier, just after 9pm, Wadebridge Community Fire Station had sent a tweet to warn: "Multiple crews are in attendance at a property fire on Dunder’s Hill in Trebetherick.

"Please approach the area with caution."

The fire service press office issued a further update at 7.41am today, to say: "Good progress is being made and the incident is now starting to be downscaled."
