A pub company is looking for people to run two pubs in one of Cornwall's most popular tourist hot spots made famous by Poldark.
Both of the St Austell Brewery pubs are in the village of Charlestown, which played a starring role in the recent remake of the BBC’s hit television series.
Famous for its collection of tall ships and picturesque scenery, it is also home to television hero, Ross Poldark, with many of the scenes from the series filmed at the Grade II listed harbour, just a stone’s throw from the Brewery’s hiring pubs – the Rashleigh Arms and the Pier House.
The Rashleigh Arms is an award-winning premium pub with 18 bedrooms overlooking the historic harbour, while the Pier House Hotel is a larger inn with 27 rooms that also have views of the harbour.
The company is looking for experienced pub managers from a managed background, who should be "great customer and people leaders, and truly passionate about quality food and drink and creating memorable experiences for our guests."
Applicants must also demonstrate a strong drive for developing customer experience, leading a team, and giving "exceptional retail standards."
The company added that, with Charlestown being such a tourist hotspot, the pubs saw high footfall over the summer, so the ideal candidates would have experience in managing high seasonal uplift, as well as a "passion for delivering great experiences all-year round."
A salary between £42,000 and £50,000 per year is being offered for both general manager roles, along with a benefits package.
Tamsyn Allington, people and communications director for St Austell Brewery, said: “For many, running a pub is a dream job but it is even more exciting to be offering two opportunities to work in such a silver screen-worthy location.
"Our people are right at the heart of everything we do, and we’re always on the lookout for passionate and talented pub operators to join our teams and help us deliver unforgettable experiences.
"As a business, we are committed to nurturing and releasing the potential of our people and are proud to be in a position to offer great career opportunities in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK.”
